Department of Mathematics

Since its inception in 1998, the Department of Mathematics has been dedicated to upholding exemplary standards in mathematical education. Our mission encompasses delivering comprehensive instruction to both undergraduate and postgraduate students across diverse fields of Engineering, Technology, and Management Studies. Engaged in both teaching and research endeavours, our esteemed faculty meticulously aligns the curriculum with industry demands. Our goal extends beyond nurturing proficient professionals; we aspire to contribute significantly to the nation's development.

Department, comprising 14 vibrant and dedicated faculty members in different domains of mathematics, imparts not only theoretical knowledge but also equip students with quantitative aptitude and reasoning skills which are crucial for success in campus interviews and Government services examinations. To stay acquainted with current trends and refined pedagogical methodologies, the faculty actively participate in seminars, conferences, and workshops organized by IIT’s, NIT’s, Anna University and AICTE-affiliated colleges. Besides, our faculty involve themselves actively in pursuing certification through online portals such as NPTEL - SWAYAM and Coursera and some of our faculty members deliver guest lecture in other institutions. Additionally, the Mathematics Association fosters intellectual discourse by inviting prominent scholars to deliver specialized lectures, enriching students' understanding of mathematics and its practical applications in contemporary technological contexts.

Short term goal

• To organize many National seminars, workshops and conferences for the benefit of students and Staff.
• To conduct faculty development programmes in cutting edge areas of research in Mathematics.
• To develop the department into a recognized Research Center.

Long term goal

• To create an environment that supports outstanding research.
• To elevate the department to a centre of excellence in Mathematics.
• To conduct International conferences.
